The Fire Station Visit

reading image

One sunny day, class 2B went on a trip. They visited the fire station. The fire station is where firefighters work. Firefighters help keep us safe.

At the fire station, they saw big red fire trucks. Fire trucks carry firefighters and their tools. They also have ladders and hoses. Hoses are used to spray water on fires.

A firefighter showed them her gear. Gear is the special clothes firefighters wear. It protects them from heat and smoke. She had a helmet, a jacket, boots, and gloves.

The firefighter taught them about fire safety. She said, "Never play with matches or lighters." She also said, "If there's a fire, get out and stay out." Fire safety is very important.

They learned a special number: 911. "Call 911 in an emergency," the firefighter said. An emergency is a serious situation, like a fire.

The best part was when they got to sit in the fire truck. They pretended to drive. They also tried to hold a hose. It was heavy!

After the visit, they thanked the firefighters. Everyone had a great time. They learned a lot about fire safety.

When they went back to school, they made drawings. They drew fire trucks and firefighters. They remembered to draw the gear too.

Class 2B learned that firefighters are brave. They help people and teach about safety. The fire station visit was exciting and fun!
