The School Play

Ethan could hardly contain his excitement; today was the day of the school play. He had been practicing his lines for weeks, and now the big red curtains in the school auditorium would soon open. Ethan was playing the lead role in the school's adaptation of "The Jungle Book," and he was both nervous and thrilled.

The auditorium was buzzing with the sounds of parents finding their seats and children practicing their lines one last time. Ethan peeked out from behind the curtain and saw his parents waving at him. He waved back, feeling a surge of confidence.

As the play began, Ethan delivered his lines with passion. He swung from vine to vine, crafted out of green streamers, and roared like a jungle king. The audience was captivated, laughing and clapping as the story unfolded.

During intermission, Ethan's friends patted him on the back, telling him he was doing great. His teacher, Ms. Parker, gave him a thumbs-up, which made Ethan smile wide.

The play ended with a grand musical number, and Ethan sang loudly, feeling like he was no longer just a third-grader but a true star of the stage. When the final note rang out, the audience stood up, clapping and cheering.

After the play, Ethan's parents gave him a big hug and told him how proud they were. His friends crowded around, chattering excitedly about their favorite parts of the play. As they left the auditorium, Ethan felt a little sad that it was over but happy that it had been such a success. He already couldn't wait for next year's school play.
