Emma's Musical Journey

reading image

Emma is getting ready for her piano recital. The recital has three segments: a classical piece, a modern tune, and a duet with her friend Mia. If she performs well in all three segments, Emma will earn a special music certificate. To prepare, Emma practices her scales, listens to various compositions, and rehearses with Mia.

The classical piece is from the Baroque period, a time when composers like Bach and Handel were famous. Emma learns how to play intricate notes and understand the deep emotions of the piece. She also learns about the importance of timing and rhythm in classical music. It's challenging to get every note right, but Emma believes it will help her grow as a musician.

Then, Emma works on the modern tune. It's a lively song with a catchy melody. She studies the different chords and tries to play them with a smooth flow. There is a specific part where she has to play a rapid series of notes, which requires quick finger movements. She also has to ensure she captures the mood of the piece, making it enjoyable for the audience.

For the duet with Mia, they choose a popular song that they both love. Mia plays the violin, and together they create a harmonious blend. They start by tuning their instruments, ensuring they are in sync. While playing, they focus on their coordination and try to bring out the best in each other. Both Emma and Mia enjoy their practice sessions and have fun together.

Emma feels she is gaining valuable experience from her practice. She is hopeful and excited for her upcoming piano recital.
