The Mystery of the Hidden Homework

reading image

I always believed in doing my homework right after school. It was my way to stay ahead and not worry about deadlines. My friend Lucas, however, had a different approach. He seemed to never do his homework, or at least, that's what he wanted everyone to believe. He would always say, "Homework? Oh, I'll find it somehow!"

Every day, when I asked Lucas if he had done his homework, his answer was always, "I'll find it in time!" Whether it was Math, Science, or History, he never seemed concerned. While I spent hours at my desk, Lucas was often seen playing soccer or hanging out at the park.

His carefree attitude was a mystery to me. How could he not worry about getting his assignments done? I couldn't imagine not being prepared for class. Yet, Lucas always seemed relaxed and happy, enjoying every moment without the burden of homework hanging over him.

But there was something odd about Lucas's story. Despite his apparent lack of concern, he always had his homework ready for class. Not just ready, but done well. He consistently received good grades, much to the surprise of our classmates and teachers.

One day, I decided to find out his secret. I went to his house after school, expecting to find him relaxing or playing video games. To my surprise, Lucas was at his desk, deeply focused on his homework. It turned out, he always did his homework right after getting home, but he kept it a secret. His playful response about finding his homework was just his way of keeping a low profile.

Lucas's approach taught me an important lesson. Appearances can be deceiving, and sometimes, the most relaxed people are the ones who have efficiently organized their time and responsibilities.
